Mamas & Papas Launch: It Takes Two to Parent!
I first came across this brand of baby gear when I visited the New York Baby Show a couple of years ago. Watching the product demos and reading some literature about the brand gave me the immediate impression of quality of material and design, one that is hip and modern. Its signature bright yellow-canopied stroller left a mark on me mentally.
Early last year I heard the great news that Mamas and Papas found a distributor here in Manila, and was happy that the mompreneur behind the brand, Kathleen Chua approached me and asked to join Mommy Mundo Bazaar last 2014. Soon after, Kathleen felt she was ready to do a formal event launch and asked us to help her invite some of our mom bloggers friends so she could meet them and also for them to get to know the Mamas and Papas story. The event went well. With members of the parenting press, as well as most of our mom blogger friends. The programme opened up with a very engaging and personal speech from the British Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Asif Ahmad. Ambassador Ahmad surprised us all with his very candid speech, he shared how he was as a father himself, and seems to be a very involved on at that, and also about what he knows about Mamas and Papas, which is a brand that was born in his native land. British Ambassador Asif AhmadMamas and Papas founders, Luisa and David Scacchetti, created the brand iin 1981 with the values of passion, commitment, sense of purpose, and rock-solid standards as foundation. Being parents (and now grandparents) themselves, they wanted to give children the best beginnings in life and this became their motivation to create inspiring products, which are innovative, functional, and stylish as well. Not only that, each Mamas & Papas product has a story to tell, each one being the result of real-life experiences which David and Luisa encountered, and later on, their daughters Amanda and Olivia who are now parents themselves and also involved in the business. One of the popular Mamas and Papas products: The Baby Bud.
What makes the Mamas & Papas brand unique? Its products are designed for parents, by parents. It is the same story for Mamas and Papas mompreneur, Kathleen Chua - being a mom herself, she also gains motivation from knowing she is helping other parents through her brand and business. At the event, we also had some fun games that show and illustrated in an interactive way, how parenting takes a lot of teamwork. Speaking of parenting teams, one such couple is Tin Dychiao and hubby Harvey. Tin and Harvey shared interesting tips about how they work together in raising their 3 kids, Berry, Xavi and Tepper. When our host, Chal Lontoc del Rosario (left) asked them how they share in the parenting load, Harvey replied: "I'd say I take care of parepring for the future of our family, while Tin handles the here and now, enjoying life's moments." I encourage all you moms and dads to check out Mamas and Papas if you're on the lookout for quality and stylish gear for your babes. Here's our post on Mommy Pages that you can check out as well. Thank you for reminding us that parenting is much better with teamwork between us mamas and the papas! We wish you more success, Kathleen!
