Christmas Crafts
So happy I was able to sneak in some crafts time in my busy schedule. I've always wanted to make a simple wreath for my door but then I was shopping for Christmas decor, I'd see beautiful, bountiful wreaths in Rustans, and would be tempted to just get one off the racks. But then, seeing the price tag on that wreath-of-my-desire, right beside a bare frame which cost a little over 600 bucks, I took on the challenge of making a wreath this year, and funnel my savings of more than 2000 pesos to other gifts. So i bought a bare wreath frame and brought out my basket of pine cones which I've kept for almost 3 years (much to the chagrin of my interior designer / stylist friend Jo Claravall)and got some painting materialsthen the kids and i got busy and engrossed with painting the pinecones in gold. zach was quite meticulous in getting the gold paint "in there"reese was singing along to the Christmas carols playing in the background --of course Mom, being an events organizer, won't forget the background music to get us all in the right mood!:) smile, reese!once the pine cones were dry, we found some recycled pieces (paper stems with pretty glass leaves from my sister in law's old crafts box, red balls from old and worn-out Christmas decoration)and used a glue gun and simple weaving in and out of the branches and twisting of the stems, and it came out really niceIt's exactly how i wanted it- simple, understated, neat, and totally our own creation. Truly makes home feel like home:)Nothing beats the great and almost instant effects of doing something creative with your hands. What more if you do it with your kids!Crafts + Kids = Relax time + Bonding = Happiness:)A HAPPY AND BLESSED CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!
