A special gift for Reese

Now that Christmas is near I know I have to already decide on what presents to give to the people in my Christmas gift list. This year I am challenging myself to come up with more personalized gifts, just so my loved ones would know how extra special they are to me. It's heartwarming to receive a gift that is well thought out, knowing the giver took that extra time and effort to think of what you might like and enjoy.  One such gift was given by my new sister-in-law Tonette to Reese when she turned 4.  The package was beautifully wrapped in tulle with a big bright ribbon...IMG_1689Inside was an amazing collection of cups and bowls, an assortment of little plates and glasses...I could imagine Tonette looking through each piece and carefully placing it inside the box...IMG_1692We brought out the pieces and found each one to be special and full of character...IMG_1702This one's Reese's favorite one...IMG_1704...and her "second favorite"...IMG_1707While this one's mine...it reminds me of my Lolo Rufino's antique collection...IMG_1703There were even two pairs of kid-friendly (aka idiot-proof) chopsticks wrapped inside these bamboo mats!IMG_1699As if these weren't enough, Tonette even added an extra personal touch! She sewed up a little apron and headpiece for Reese.  Oh she loved the apron...IMG_1695but didn't want to try on the headpiece so Mom tried that one on...hmmm, i think I'll just set that one aside:)IMG_1697We laid out the pieces onto a blanket on the floor, making our own little spread...IMG_1710and even added in our sushi and fresh fruits to complete the picture.IMG_1716This was such a special gift which gave Reese and I lots of fun pretend play-time together.IMG_1713Thank you, Auntie Tonette for the wonderful gift and your thoughtfulness:)IMG_1709
