100% Yumminess from the Fruit Garden
How do you eat your jam?Mine would be spread thinly on crackers or saltines. Or spread onto a flattened cheese sandwiches as it toasts on a griddle. When i'm in the mood for something sweet and at the same time nostalgic, I treat myself to a classic PB&J with a layer of jam spread atop peanut butter between two layers of lightly toasted bread. The jams we can get at the supermarket will satisfy but like most things in life, nothing beats the real thing. When I heard of The Fruit Garden what caught my eye was the packaging. They come in small dainty jars, making you feel like you're in for a luxurious treat. Then I found out the jam was hand and homemade by a French man whose name was so familiar- Pierre Marmonier, and I realize I attended his charming and memorable wedding where half the guests wore pretty Sunday hats as married a friend of mine years ago. It's wonderful how our paths have crossed since. I had been reading about the story of The Fruit garden in magazines and talked to Pierre himself and his wife and partner, my friend Andrea (i still call her Ria, her maiden name was Alemany) about how he works so passionately to bring The Fruit Garden not only to homes but also to hotels, restaurants, even now into the menu of First Class cabins of a leading airline. What success passion can bring! At the last Ultimate Taste Test 7.0 event organized by the Our Awesome Planet and The Power Plant Mall, I was treated to an actual demo of the jam master in action.Pierre was busy cooking something up (literally) in his booth...They were fresh strawberries in his pan. Hmm my favorite. He was later joined by his eldest daughter who I could see shared her father's passion. (Warning: Passion is not only hereditary, it's contagious!)Straining and cooling...Then Pierre was going around giving out samplers of his newly cooked jam.The jars were still warm!Pierre and his children at their booth at the recent Ultimate Taste test.Fruit garden is premium, 100% real fruit.
