Welcome Mommy Mundo SoMoms!

I love the fact that I come from a generation which grew up with the traditional paper and pen, typewriters, handwritten letters, hallmark cards, mail and stamps, and letterpress, old lettersjust unearthed my old box of letters...and then able to shift (yeees! Im not a techie dinosaur!) to technology available today- computers, the internet, smartphones, apps, blogs, social media. Having seen how “it used to be”, I can take the best of both worlds, benefit from the "old ways" while using what can benefit me in today's much much faster pace. Would you agree, classmates?!Of course, nothing beats meeting people face-to-face, cultivating friendships through actual conversations and experiences, and there's still a palpable depth, sincerity and some romance to receiving a handwritten letter.  Since my kids probably live more than half their lives online, I always try to remind them about how they should balance their online life with “real life” specially when relationships are concerned.I'd have to say though that I have so much appreciation for how the web and social media namely Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and blogs have connected me to people I may not have even met or known better if not for these new media. Sometimes I think that with a schedule like mine, I would probably be living life in a “cave” with my social life limited to my close family and friends from work. Being active online really keeps me in touch, not only with news and updates, or the goings-on all over the world, and with family and friends, but actually paved the way for new and real relationships and friendships, even new business opportunities! (Shall I dare say social media has dethroned the golf course as the new boardroom? Lol!)Through my Mommy Mundo work, I’m able to be in touch with so many moms like myself, via email, Facebook, sms. Some I have met at our events, and all are warm and some are very expressive about what they think about Mommy Mundo and this I so appreciate! With the Mommy Mundo team, we run several mom-focused websites- mommymundo.com, mommypages.com.ph, bellyblessed.com, expomom.com, mompreneurmanila.com and Facebook pages for each one. This is where we blog about new information for moms, updates on the latest products and services, and announcements for our Mommy Mundo community. Posted comments and emails keep us in touch with our mom readers from those sites! But the space you're in right now is MY "Mundo". This is where I write, as the title states, about my personal world. While I wish I could write more often, I’m pretty happy I've set up this little corner for myself. Sharing thoughts and experiences through this blog not only documents my life and that of my family, but it also gives me a different kind of high knowing that I might be able to connect with other moms like me who are passionate about motherhood and her kids, leading a busy but fulfilling life as a mompreneur, running a household, trying to be in fashion and hip on some days, artistic and creative on others. Here I share my favorite discoveries that other moms might find great and useful too, and while I do this I'm happy  I'm able to help promote other businesses and support mompreneurs too. Great right? There's just so much to write about and share!SO, I've made it a major resolution to work harder on this blog in the coming months and new year, and one of the things that inspires me to do this is the new friendships I’ve formed in these wonderful women, now called the Mommy Mundo SoMoms.somomsThey are some of the most active moms in the blogging and social media scene, and they are women I love to connect with because of the common views and expriences we share, their refreshing candor and ‘realness’, which is so evident in all their blogs, posts and tweets. (You might know how big a fan I am of “real moms”- if you will remember the Mommy Matters real mom campaign from not so long ago:) ) Their authenticity is valuable to me as a fellow woman, as a co-mom, as a reader of their blogs, as their friend, and specially now, as they have officially become part of the Mommy Mundo world.Yehuda Berg, Kabbalah founder said these inspiring words: “It’s not just the amount of people we connect with but also the depth. It’s important to be genuine and real. That’s opening our hearts.”Welcome SoMoms! Thank you for opening my heart! awwww:) I look forward to a fun, fulfilling and crazy time with you all!somomsVisit the SoMoms blogs:Apples and Dumplings: http://www.applesanddumplings.com/2012/11/mommy-mundo-somoms-giveaway.htmlChronicles of A Nursing Mom: http://www.chroniclesofanursingmom.com/2012/11/introducing-mommy-mundo-somoms.htmlGo!
