Our Very Own Mongolian Grill #MakeitJolly
It's been a tradition in our family to hold an eat-all-you-can Mongolian dinner party at our home every time Gary's birthday comes up.It's something we've probably been doing the past ten years or so, and we've been calling it the CoZach Mongolian Grill, playfully named after our two boys.We prepared all the ingredients. Just chopping up veggies like carrots, onions, garlic, singkamas, nuts, meat (beef, chicken, pork), fish, squid, shrimps, squid balls, plus the different sauces (Teriyaki, Mongolian, Soy Sauce), sesame oil, garlic water, sesame seeds and supplies such as styro or paper bowls, chopsticks, and markers for people to write their names on the bowls after they've picked out their rice bowl mix-ins.We also set up multiple cooking stations using our Electrolux induction cookers, and assign one "Ate" per station. If you've never tried a Mongolian dinner, it's something I'd recommend if you want to throw a party and didn't want to cook or hire a caterer. It doesn't only come out to be more cost effective than a professional caterer, it is also less labor intensive plus adds an interactive spin to your dinner.guests choose what they want to eatOur dearest college buddies came over. Here are some of them...Me with our friends Johanna, Meluchi and Sue Ann.Gary with one of our best friends, BingAl and the Hernandez kids, plus there were twenty more of our closest friends who joined us that evening, including Bita (Gary's mom), Miggy (Gary's brother) and his wife, Ria.This year's Mongolian dinner was made a bit more "jolly" with our added ingredients of Jolly corn kernels, Jolly button mushrooms, and Jolly baby corn.Chopped up by Reese and I, Jolly made it even more easier for us to add more exciting ingredients to our buffet. Next year, I think I'll also add in Jolly green peas and Jolly asparagus! The birthday boy was happy, therefore, so was I!P.S. As if our Mongolian dinner wasn't memorable enough, Gary got a surprise gift from the boysand a super witty and creative one from Reese!Reese is Daddy's "TopFAN" :)
