Celebrating the Filipina Entrepreneur with Go Negosyo
"Filipinas make it happen in business."This is the same message we also share and want to bring forth through our own advocacy efforts at Mompreneur Manila. That women now form a major percentage of entrepreneurs in the country, that we are contributors in industry and serious players in business. As an entrepreneurship advocate myself, I have always admired Joey Concepcion's Go Negosyo movement, and am at awe at its dynamism in helping inspire and empower entrepreneurs and aspiring entreps all over the country. Naturally, I was thrilled and honored when I was invited as one of the guest speakers in a panel at the summit. It was also wonderful finding out that I'd be sharing the stage with my sister, Jaymie Pizarro, who is a successful mompreneur herself. We've both been blessed with opportunities to speak in different venues to share our stories with various groups of people, and I think this was the first occasion that we've ever been invited together. Here's my sister and I waiting for our portion, with friend Krie Lopez, of Messy Bessy, social entrepeneur and one of our speakers at last year's Mompreneur Summit.Of course, we took the opportunity to invite one our our biggest fans, Mom!:)Onstage we were joined by other inspiring women and got the chance to share our stories and some bits of advice.Among those in the panel with us were some of our good friends, such as Joy Canon-Abaquin, founder of the Multiple Intelligence School and GoNegosyo Angelpreneur mentor (Joy will incidentally be speaking at the coming Mompreneur Summit this September!)Krie Reyes-Lopez of Messy Bessy, with host Chal Lontoc DiazChristine Bersola-Babao, tv host and proud to be a "serial mompreneur"Chit Juan of Echo StoreMy sister, Jaymie Pizarro, The BullRunnerWe were also joined by now Honorable Senator Grace Poe-LlamanzaresIt's always a worthwhile and memorable experience sharing my experiences and knowledge with other entrepreneurs, the women and students who were in the audience. Hopefully we were able to inspire them to take a go for entrepreneurship and contribute more to our country's success and progress while it benefits their own lives, families, and communities.Photos in this post are courtesy of Go Negosyo.
