Our latest travels have brought us not only to beautiful destinations, but also some of the hippest hotels I've ever stayed in. Since we are a family of 5, I'm quite budget conscious when I book accommodations for us, and take A LOT of time, sometimes days, to find the right places for us.As much as possible, when the kids are traveling with us, I look for places that will fit all 5 of us in one room. I like having everyone close and just think that the time together lounging around, resting from walking and sleeping in one space, is part of the experience of traveling as a family.Apart from this, location is naturally also a main criteria. I don't want to be spending tons of pocket money on transportation, especially since our transpo cost is always x5.

I'm also quite practical in that I would rather book a boutique hotel than a 5-star one since the former just has more character, plus is easier on the pocket too. I just think the more I save here, the more we can enjoy eating and shopping! I'd like to share with you the cool places we've stayed in the past months.

These hotels rate high in my book so keep them in mind if you're ever heading to Singapore, Taiwan, Seattle or Whistler!SINGAPORE: Hotel Jen, Tanglin

TAIWAN: Home Hotel, Da-an

SEATTLE: Alexis HotelThe hotel is steps away from the museum!

WHISTLER, CANADA: Hotel AdaraWe found ourselves in Whistler over the summer and loved Hotel Adara...

The hotel receptionist was super warm and charming! That's it for our list of hip hotels from "The Flying V's" (Villanuevas)!
