Highlands for the Day

Gary and our eldest were off to Canada for a month, and it was a chance for me to bond with the two younger ones. One of the things we were able to do was go out of town with family, and one of those trips was this unexpected day trip to Tagaytay. One Sunday, my cousin Candice (also my partner in Mommmy Matters and Nurture Nook) surprised us with an invite to join them in Tagaytay Highlands. The last time we went to Highlands was around 10 years ago, when the boys were still young boys. I always loved the place, remembering its manicured gardens, ponds and bridgeways and its cable car which overlooked the hills and valleys of Tagaytay. So we packed our things and went on a cozy car ride...TagaytayReese's constant travel companion- her Udon pillow from Tita Minnie of Snug-a-hug, Chloe her American girl doll. I love bringing along this UniqloXInes de la Fressange shawl I got from a L'Indochine event, my cute native bag from WholemomPH, Built NY pouch where I put my essentials like anti- moquito lotion, comb, hand sanitizer etc., and Soyami sticks, perfect for the car ride! Our hosts for the day, Camille, Candy, my Auntie Dionne, Candy's mom, and Katie, Candy's eldest daughter. I grew up very close to my cousins and this family has been thankfully stringing me along their family vacations since I was a kid. I guess some things never change!:)TagaytayThis next visit I found it to be still the same breathtaking sight--TagaytayTagaytayCandy was nursing David in her Indigo baby pouch and loved how she could keep David close and cozily breastfeeding. Babywearing is love!TagaytayAuntie Dionne, Candy’s mom, surprised me with her natural model pose. Then I remembered that Auntie used to be a model in her single days .TagaytayShe modeled for our grandfather’s Vonnel brand- if you heard of the iconic Yeyey Vonnel! girls , she was one of them! The cable car ride is still so much fun!Tagaytay#Godisanartist He truly is.TagaytayTagaytayTagaytayMy Bucketfeet pair among the greens and flowersWe also went for a dip in the pool which the kids loved.TagaytayTagaytayTagaytayQuiet time away from the city is always an effective way to recharge. For me, Reese and Zach, it made us forget for aw hile that our two TeamV members, Dad and Kuya COby are still away in Canada for a few more weeks.TagaytayTagaytayThanks so much Candy, Camille and Auntie Dionne for having us!
